Happy Halloween!!!!

HaPpY HaLLoWeEn!!!!!!
Noah has been singing "trick or treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat" all day, every day. And, of course I couldn't resist adding in the line that comes next,  "if you don't, I don't care, I'll pull down your underwear." and I quickly follow it up with "you know you can't sing it like this at school, right!?" Ha ha. Oops. I just couldn't resist!
This Sunday we carved pumpkins. Nana and Auntie Lisa came over to join in the fun (and unfortunately Josh had to work). Here are some pics :)

Noah hard at work.
Hayden hardly working :)
Here are some pics of our creations:
I did these two below:

Lisa did this one for her baby bump (aka Baby cousin, aka Oliver)
Noah did this one:
Nana's is the big one on the ground of the group shot, and Hayden's is the one next to Oliver's:
We always have a blast carving pumpkins and chatting (definitely more fun for the adults though, the kids lose interest rather quickly). Oh, and, my mom makes the most delicious pumpkin seeds. Mmmm, I can't wait to eat some tomorrow!!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!! Now go out and get some candy people!!

Banner/Bunting Mania

Happy weekend everyone!! I've been having loads of fun making some new glittery banners for my Etsy shop. They were quite popular this Halloween season (yay!) so I thought I would crank out some more for Christmas/winter. Here are some pics of what you will soon find in my shop :)

"Make a Wish" sparkly silver Christmas stars....

"Thanks!"

"brrrrrrrr"

And I also have a "Merry & Bright" one on the way but I ran out of the letter "r." I didn't realize that I would be using all of them spelling out the words "Brrr" and "Merry." Doh! Oops! Off to the craft store I go (yay - ha ha).

Happy Shopping people!

Every lamp post and store front down main street were decked out too:

The Haunted Mansion was also decked out as usual:
It was so festive there and really got me in the Halloween mood!

i love lamp.

Happy Tuesday everyone!? Today I am a happy girl. I am a happy girl for many reasons. One, my hubby took Noah to school this morning and Hayden to the gym with him so I could have some much loved alone time. Two, because after we pick up Noah from school we are headed to Disneyland with my inlaws and sis in law and her family to see all the fabulous Halloween decor and go on some rides (this is the first year that DLand has gone all out for Halloween). And three, I finally got some new bedside table lamps and I am in LOVE! Ok, first I will show you a pic of my old lamps (please note that I had these lamps in my college apartment over 10 years ago. they were originally purchased at Ross for $19.99 each). oops. disregard the messy dresser top in the background please.
The lamps weren't hideous, and pretty stylish for a college kid I must say. BUT, they are definitely not my current style and not the look I am going for in my bedroom. You can see in the pic below my attempt to give them a makeover. The budget is seriously tight right now so I was trying to upcycle them and make them "work."

My plan was to spray the base shiny gold (I know some of you are not gold people, but I totally am) and find some long narrow white drum shades to go with them. Problem! Long narrow white drum shades that fit these lamps (they have that skinny chandelier type bulb) don't exist. Trust me. Ugh!

So, several trips to all places that sell lamps....Target, Ross, Marshall's, Home Goods, etc and I finally found some I loved that were in the budget (not according to my hubby, but he would prefer we read by candle light rather than pay money for new lamps).
See.......YAY!!!
close-up.....
closer-up......
I'm thinking they kind of resemble the Daniella lamp from Ballard Designs ($219 each)....

or even the Louisa lamp ($329 each)...
My new lamps were marked $29.99 each, plus I had a $10 rewards certificate to redeem putting my new fabulous lamps at $25 each. BAM! take that Ballard!!!!!

(oh yeah, and you can see in the above pic that I got the final throw pillow to finish up my bedding ensemble. Look back at the pic of my room with the gold lamps and you can see the random white one I threw in for the pic).
I found this matching tan pillow with pretty script on it. The finishing touch. The last piece to the puzzle. Yay, yay, yay!
Big picture again.....
BAM!

Saturday randomness...

Happy Saturday peeps! Today was the first Saturday in a while that Noah didn't have a soccer game. We definitely enjoy watching him play, but it was kind of a nice break. The kids and I took a walk to a few garage sales in our neighborhood and came home with some cool treasures for FREE. The best! Just some kid books, a hopscotch game, and a couple cute hello kitty shirts for Hayden from my neighbor. All in all, for free, it was a pretty good haul. Other than that, Josh is taking his chainsaw to my Nana's favorite tree :( It was the original reason my Nana fell in love with this house and wanted to buy it back in the early 80's. It's sad to see it go, but the roots are gnarly and are already popping up in the front yard. Yep, they're growing straight under our foundation so the poor tree must go to save us from giant plumbing and foundation problems in the future. I understand why, but I still feel sad about it :(
In other news, this kid can ride a 2-wheeler now! Seriously awesome!!!! His bike is a bit small, but it was perfect for learning.

I also found these super cute ruffle shoes (Madden Girl) at Marshall's the other day for $10 on clearance. Aren't they cute??

And last but not least, I must report a crime. Those naughty Keebler Elves have ripped off the sweet Girl Scouts:
They seriously taste EXACTLY like the Girl Scout cookies called Somoas (not sure how to spell that). Seriously, EXACTLY!!! And, at $2.50 per box from Wal Mart, they're a total bargain! So SO So SO YUMMY!!!!!!
We're off to celebrate our Tompa's b-day today (Josh's mom's husband Tom goes by Tompa to the grand kids), and then to a spooky Halloween party after that :)

Hope you're having a great Saturday too!
